Sonja Bailer / Ars Electronica Center

Building Life Ink, the team and I always shared the wish to use it to give a mean of expression which goes and look beyound our disabilities and differences, taking root in the innate mechanisms of our creativity.

In early 2025, the Ars Electronica Center, Caritas Oberösterreich and the sicht:wechsel festival decided to collaborate on bringing Life Ink to art workshops in Upper Austria for artists with disabilities, and exhibit their art and their Life Inks together, at Splace on the central place of Linz.

We visited four of these art workshops, as well as the Kunstuniversität Linz, showing that creation finds no border in disabilities.

On the 12th of May 2025, the exhibition opened composed of a short documentary film, paintings from the artists, a snapshot of their Life Inks while creating them, and a reel of all of the participants’ Life Inks.
